Frequently Asked Questions
What size wiper blades does a BYD Dolphin take?
The BYD Dolphin (2023-2024) takes a 25 inch (625mm) blade on the driver side and a 15 inch (375mm) blade on the passenger side. The same front sizes apply to every model year in the table above.
Does the BYD Dolphin have a rear wiper?
Yes, the BYD Dolphin is fitted with a rear wiper as standard. The rear blade is 8 inches (200mm) and is sold separately from the front pair. Owners should replace the rear blade at the same time as the fronts for consistent visibility.
What wiper connector does the BYD Dolphin use?
The BYD Dolphin uses a push button connector on both front wiper arms. The blade clicks onto the end of the arm and is released by pressing the button, so a standard hook style blade will not fit without the correct adaptor.
Why are the BYD Dolphin front wiper blades such different lengths?
The Dolphin pairs a long 25 inch (625mm) driver blade with a much shorter 15 inch (375mm) passenger blade, a 10 inch difference. Fitting each blade to the correct arm matters, because swapping them leaves a large unwiped area in front of the driver.
How often should I replace BYD Dolphin wiper blades?
BYD Dolphin wiper blades should generally be replaced every 12 months, or sooner if they streak, smear or chatter. The long driver blade covers most of the windscreen, so wear usually shows first as streaks at its outer edge.
