Frequently Asked Questions
What size wiper blades does a Mercedes-AMG ML55 take?
The ML55 (W163, 2001-2005) takes a 22 inch (550mm) blade on the driver side and a 22 inch (550mm) blade on the passenger side. One matched pair covers every year of the model.
Does the Mercedes-AMG ML55 have a rear wiper?
Yes, the Mercedes-AMG ML55 is fitted with a rear wiper blade as standard. The rear blade is 16 inches (400mm) and is sold separately from the front pair, and owners should replace all three blades at the same time for consistent visibility.
What wiper connector does the Mercedes-AMG ML55 use?
The ML55 uses a J-hook connector, where the hook on the end of the arm passes through the blade adaptor and clicks into place. No tools are needed to change the blades.
Does the ML55 use the same wiper blades as the W163 M-Class?
Yes, the ML55 takes the same matched 22 inch (550mm) J-hook pair and 16 inch (400mm) rear blade as the W163 M-Class. The later ML63 uses different sizes and connectors.
How often should I replace Mercedes-AMG ML55 wiper blades?
Mercedes-AMG ML55 wiper blades should generally be replaced every 12 months, or sooner if they streak, smear or chatter. On an older SUV like the ML55, weak arm springs can stop even new blades wiping cleanly, so check the arm tension too.
